Our Story

How it all started...

The story of Hope City is unique and powerful, something only God could author.  Hope City was started in 2016 but we have roots in the city of Racine that trace all the way back to the 1930's. Through the years, and through different names and buildings, there has always been a group of people who were committed to sharing the good news of Jesus to the awesome city of Racine. Some of those people have been a part of this story for 40+ years, and several of those families are a part of Hope City to this day.

It was out of that rich heritage that the origins of Hope City Church began to take shape. Hope City launched and had it's first service on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 with around 160 people.  We were excited to see all that God was going do through our new church.

Not too long after our first service Pastors Tylre & Gina began to feel a pull in their hearts to move the church  to downtown Racine and began walking through potential buildings in early Oct. of that year. After walking through several buildings that didn't quite seem to be right they found a building for sale located at 944 Main St and set up a showing. Pastors Tylre & Gina walked through the doors and Pastor Tylre said he almost had an instant feeling of "this is it, this is what we've been looking for. This will be our new home."

After a few weeks of prayer and due diligence an offer was put in on the building and it was accepted. We closed on the building in late October and held our first service at our new location on November 6, 2016 with around 190 people in attendance.

Since then, Hope City has become completely debt free, grown to 700+ in average weekly attendance, and continued to make tremendous renovations to our facility.

We believe that this is just the beginning of all that God wants to do in us & through us. He is the author and perfecter of this story, and we can't wait to see what the future holds.

Big Faith - Bright Future.
